This species of tenrec looks like a very cute hedgehog. However, these tenrecs are from Madagascar and are very bizarre mammals- they have a cloaca!
Care is pretty easy. These tenrecs feed readily on dry and wet cat food, eggs, and mealworms. They will sometimes eat other foods e.g. they had watermelon for July 4th. They love to be handled and I have never been bitten. They will enter hibernation pretty soon. Their hibernation consists of being mostly inactive at room temperature with occasional feeding. Baby tenrecs can be very difficult to sex so I can't guarantee sexes.
Price is $600. Might be willing to trade for something cool.
