House Bill 4300 has been introduced in Michigan banning the ownership of all non-human primates (This includes monkeys and the lesser primates such as lemurs, marmosets, and bushbabies). The wording on exemptions is at best confusing regarding USDA license holders. Michigan animal owners need to contact their local representatives and senators to oppose this legislation. You can keep track of the bill at the Michigan Legislature website or you may email mich.exoticanimalowners@yahoo.com if you would like more information.
