Ringtail cats are not cats at all but actually the smallest member of the raccoon family. They go by several other names including, Miners cats, Civet cats and cacomistle. They make the excellent indoor pets owing to their small size (2-3 pounds) with a sweet gentle nature not to mention they are easily litter trained. They can't tear things up or are they possessive like raccoons and coatimundis. Ringtail Cats "LIVE" to play and are very affectionate and long lived (12-14 years in captivity). They also bond easily with their owners with a minimum of interaction time. These little guys in general have very even dispositions like kinkajous and they adapt very easily to commercial Mazuri or Zupreen omni diets plus some insect diet from Zupreen.
