We currently have TWO babies on bottles and they are doing well, but they are very young yet, not old enough to ship.We are expecting several North American Porcupine babies (porcupettes) to be born this spring. Expecting 6-8 babies hopefully.
We do intend to ship them and the price is $1000 each plus shipping/crate fees and any veterinarian costs for health certs etc...
We are a USDA licensed farm located in MN. This is our first year selling these babies and we absolutely LOVE them!
Our current plan is to wait until we believe all the babies that we are expecting have been born, then we will have our vet attempt to sex them and once we know what we have for un-related mating pairs etc.. we will contact everyone who has already asked about them from the other ad. We will be taking deposits at that time and making plans to ship them when they are 8 weeks, or eating solid foods and on just 2 bottles a day. (or whatever the airline requires)
We are not charging higher prices for the females, because I am not sure I can guarantee that my vet will be able to sex them with 100% certainty.
These really are wonderful animals and we have gotten an overwhelming response from zoos and educational programs all over the United States.
We do have a website, if you want to keep track of the babies there, it is www.back40gamefarm.com . Once we are taking deposits I will be contacting all interested buyers with what we have for sale.
Thanks!
